The Naming of 'Goose'
1,000 miles of
trails and backroads
I Left Portland 9/25 on an eight day trip
around the Cascades and high desert
of Oregon.  Although I had planned on
doing the trip all summer, summer was
now fall - time to go before the
Cascade trails were snowed in.  The
plan was to loosely follow the Oregon
Back Country Discovery Trail, route 3
"Jewels of the Cascades" on the
southbound leg of the trip.  
Once in Southern Oregon, I planned on traveling to Steen's Mountain and the Alvord Desert,
traveling across central Oregon and around Mt. Hood before returning to Portland.
